Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

© MMX V.1.0.1
by Morley Evans

Brad Wall, the Premier of Saskatchewan, announced yesterday that his government will get behind promoting trials for a new surgical procedure that may help people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Saskatchewan has the highest occurrence of MS in Canada, according to Wall.

But something is already available. It is very inexpensive. What could that be, you wonder? It is Vitamin D. It has long been known that people in the tropics do not get Multiple Sclerosis and that exposure to sunshine is the most likely reason they do not.

Sunshine combines with cholesterol in the skin and makes Vitamin D. The same relationship exists with cancer: the farther south one goes, the lower the rate of cancer! Asthma disappears with Vitamin D too. So do Rickets and other diseases like Macular Degeneration. Vitamin D regulates half our genes scientists are discovering. Give it a try.

People living in Saskatchewan would get very little useful sunlight even if they lived outside because the sun is too weak nine or ten months out of twelve. It is cold too, so people wear warm clothes. Most people in Saskatchewan live inside, where they get no sunshine, even in summer.

For some reason, doctors are 100% ignorant about Vitamin D. "You get that in your food. Eat a carrot." Doctors here in Regina, where I live, abhor Vitamin D. Doctors here have a prejudice against Vitamin D. What do they learn in medical school at the University of Saskatchewan? Snot?

The Premier of Saskatchewan, Mr. Wall, should spend his time, and the people's money, reforming the Saskatchewan health system, which is a complete scandal and which consumes as much as everything else combined. He needs to clean house. Wall needs to divert a river and clean out the Augean Stables.

One excellent example of the relationship between latitude and disease is Cecil Rhodes.

Oh! Canada

© MMX V.1.0.2
by Morley Evans

Canada is like most countries: Canada is run for the benefit of the people who run the country.

As Allan Blakeney, PC, OC, SOM, QC, FRSC, the NDP Premier of Saskatchewan (1971-1982) once remarked, "You are either on the bus, or you are under its wheels." Canada is unique because Canadians have been persuaded that they are all on the bus. Nope. The bus carries the government, the bureaucrats, the courts, the press, the schools, the doctors, the cops. The bus of State carries the people whose incomes come from the taxpayers. The military is an enforcer of the world-wide Anglo-American empire. Soldiers are sent to kill and to be killed. Soldiers are paid off with a bauble on their chests and are called "heroes" before they are forgotten, buried or discarded. Soldiers are not on the bus. Everyone else pays for the people who are riding on the bus which cruises along over their fleecy bodies and their mutton heads.

Industrialists are on the bus. Industrial workers are not on the bus, but their leaders and their families are!

Were one a resident of Zimbabwe, Guatemala, Brazil, or any other place, one would have no illusions about how things are. Americans are suspicious of the government. The United States produces legions of clear thinkers who criticize the system, for all the good that does. Canada is different. Canada is unique. Australia and New Zealand are similar to Canada, but Canada is the real land of sheep.

Ashley Smith on the Fifth Estate

Dear Hanna Gartner: I watched your program last night. My sister couldn't watch it. She left the room. My sister thinks the idiots who tortured Ashley, drove her nuts and finally killed her should be taken out and shot. These people are more concerned about keeping their jobs (and pensions too, I presume) than caring for someone in their charge. They are not only brainless, they are heartless. It isn't really their fault of course. The problem goes right to the top. If any one of these people, or you, were treated the way they treated Ashley, they would be driven nuts too. Torture? Try sleeping on the floor. Try solitary confinement for three years. Try demands to submit and obey shouted through a steel cell door by the "authority" in charge. Try four or five storm troopers wearing body armour marching into the cell of a helpless girl to put her in shackles. No one had even one kind word for Ashley. No comfort. Nothing. This is not an isolated case. I'm glad you have raised an issue. The criminal justice/mental health system, whatever it is, is a disgrace. THE CANADIAN HEALTH SYSTEM IS WORSE. Call me and find out what they did to me.

Not Far From The Truth

© MMX V.1.0.6
by Morley Evans

Your story would have everyone speaking German soon. That actually is not var vrom ze trut (in Hollywood German), Riaz.

And nicht weit von der Wahrheit in real German.

Before the First World War, the British were very concerned about the German Empire that had been created by Bismarck. The Germans were making better stuff and selling it for less. Twenty-one years after World War I, World War II broke out and the Americans maneuvered Japan to be clobbered. Washington was very concerned about the Japanese: They were making better stuff and selling it for less. Rising from the ashes, the Germans and Japanese were doing well again by 1965. After two world wars plus the Cold War which included Korea, Vietnam and hundreds of little wars, the British Empire is long gone and the American empire may be on its last legs. The Chinese have climbed out of the grave dug for them by the Americans and the Indians are roaring back after the Raj. They are making better stuff and selling it for less. The Iraqis and Afghans today are further demonstrating that using weapons to get what one wants does not work anymore. The Pentagon conceded years ago that both wars were lost, despite having every advantage in money, firepower and technology. (The empire we live in hasn't won a war since 1945, despite all the mischief it has caused "defending freedom.") The formula of imperialism that worked for over a thousand years seems to be broken. The French and the Germans came to a rapprochement sixty years ago. They created the European Union by working together with the other Europeans. As Joe Schlesinger summed it up on CBC, Germany, as Bismarck intended long ago, is at peace and is surrounded by friends — including Great Britain and Russia. Only the Americans have yet to figure it out, but they will: Beating swords into plough shares works.

Fancy that.

Animal Farm

I have been taking Carnitor® sold in Canada by Sigma Tau Pharmaceuticals of Scarborough, Ontario. Sigma Tau is an Italian company. It has a U.S. subsidiary and other subsidiaries around the world. Sigma Tau has only a few products. Its lead product is Carnitor® which does not require a prescription anywhere except Canada. Its patent has expired and generics are available, but not in Canada. Canadians are a captive market, thanks to their federal government.

I pay $116 a month for two 4 oz bottles. "No, it is not on the drug plan. You pay full price." I could buy exactly the same thing in the United States for 35% less. I could buy generic Levocarnitine or acetyl Levocarnitine (which is better) for even less. But Canadian customs stops competition at the border "to protect Canadians." I just went though the hoops with www.CanadaDrugs.com and was finally told they can't bring products into Canada from the United States. Their business is shipping products from Canada into the United States. We are talking about exactly the same thing being sold. Despite the Canadian propaganda, not every pharmaceutical drug is cheaper in Canada!

Canada is set up as a farm to benefit a few Big Canadians. Small Canadians get milked and screwed. Canadians think they live in a wonderful country and Canadians do live in a wonderful country, if they are the right Canadians! That is what they mean when Canadian institutions — the government, the bureaucrats, the courts, the press, the schools, the doctors, the cops — say "We protect Canadians."

In Animal Farm, George Orwell said all the animals are equal, except that some of the animals are more equal than others. Tommy Douglas made things even better than they had been before for the privileged classes. He made some of his friends members of the privileged classes. Canadians think Douglas helped the common man. That is not what he did. Douglas made a religion out of "Medicare" so doctors could have their hands in the public pocket along with the pharmaceutical companies which are better protected in Canada than the Mafia. Canada is one of the best countries in the world, but not for the advertised reasons for which it is famous, famous especially to Canadians who believe the lies they are told.

St. Matthew's Celebrates 100 Years

St. Matthew’s Regina Celebrates 100 Years

by Morley Evans

REGINA St. Matthew’s Anglican Church began 100 years ago, on the George Broder farm before there was a Winnipeg Street, before Regina went that far east. George Broder’s eldest daughter, Grace, started a Sunday School in the family farm house which was located where Victoria Avenue and Winnipeg Street intersect today.

Sadly, Grace Broder passed away in 1910, but her spirit lives on in St. Matthew’s Anglican Church today a century later. To commemorate Grace Broder’s life, a small 20 by 30 foot wood frame church was built south of the Broder farm house.

This little white church was consecrated as Grace Church in 1910 and ministered from St. Paul’s on 12th Avenue and McIntyre Street, Regina. St. Paul’s had been built only 25 years before.

The parish was growing. Regina was growing. In 1913, the rectory that stands today on Winnipeg Street was built immediately south of Grace Church. In 1915, a “basement church” was built south of the rectory. The “basement church” was roofed over and became Grace Church. The original white frame building became the church hall. Grace Church became St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.

The church hall was sold and removed a few years later as “Broder’s Annex” developed with streets, sidewalks, modest homes and more churches, including Lutheran, Serbian Orthodox, Romanian Orthodox and Roman Catholic, creating a neighbourhood of faith in an ethnic Babel.

The Great War broke out in 1914 and ended in 1918. Many from Regina lost their lives. Many more in Great Britain lost their lives too. To commemorate the life and death of her only son, an anonymous mother in England donated funds to complete the building of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Regina.

Frank Portnall, a noted Regina architect, was retained to draw plans. The roof was removed and the superstructure was built over what had been the “basement church.” St. Matthew’s was completed in 1926.

Grace Broder Chapel nestles on the south side of St. Matthew’s Church where it is warmed by the sun that shines on it in the summer and in the winter. Grace Broder’s spirit lives on to bless the church and all who have come there to worship through decades of turmoil and peace.

After a century and many thousands who came and went, Grace explains the enduring warmth of St. Matthew's.

St. Matthew's parish will hold an anniversary celebration on the weekend of September 17 - 19, 2010. "An Angel Watches Over Us" has been chosen as the theme for the event, in recognition of the woman whose life inspired construction of the original church. For more information or for tickets to the dinner Saturday night and the brunch Sunday following the service, please call Gail Ridgway at 761-0967.

St. Matthew's Church, which began as a simple wooden building on a farm, has grown into an active parish in an impressive brick building surrounded by a modern city.

Robins

© MMX V.1.0.1
by Morley Evans

Did I tell you the story of the robins, Sabine? I'll do that right now:

I sent this story to Yoshimi so you will see the Japanese word for "robin".

We have had a dismal summer and spring. It has been cold and wet. But we had robins. 駒鳥

Robins built a nest in the crabapple tree outside the kitchen window. I bought some Nikon binoculars so I could watch from my chair at the kitchen table.

Robins usually lay four tiny blue eggs. Merna was tempted to get a ladder and have a look inside the nest, but I discouraged that.

Things seemed to be progressing. The mother robin sat on her nest most of the time. Sometimes she flew off to get a worm to eat.

After enough time had passed, I expected to see much activity as mother and father fed their babies.

Then there was a violet thunder storm. The rain poured down. Wind howled. Lighting flashed. Thunder boomed. The crabapple tree shook.

The next day there was no robin sitting on her nest. The nest was empty the next day too. This went on for days. I gave up hope.

One day Merna said there was something on the nest.

I got my binoculars and took a look.

A big robin was standing on the edge of the nest. He had a steely look in his eyes. He had black spots on his yellow breast, so he must have been a juvenile robin.

But he was Big!

Where did he come from, I wondered?

It was windy and the wind fluffed his feathers. He looked into the wind with his determined look.

He walked around the edge of the nest.

Then father robin flew in.

When he landed, the new robin opened his mouth wide, expecting to be fed.

Father robin said, "Stop fooling around, Junior. It's time to go!" He flew off in a flash.

A few seconds later, Junior flew off in a flash too.

Over the next week the robins returned to the tree and to the lawn, but not to the nest.

Sometimes they splashed in the birdbath under the tree.

I watched Mother robin teaching Junior to catch worms.

She pounded her beak into the grass.

Junior lay on his belly watching with his wings stretched out flat.

Despite the rain and cold, this summer has been wonderful, Yoshimi. Hope it has been as nice in Kasama!

This morning, I watched a squirrel beside the crabapple tree, Sabine. I had never seen a squirrel here before! After supper, I watered the flowers. There are many mosquitoes this year.

Killing Masses Is Easy

© MMX V.1.1.1
by Morley Evans

Killing Masses is Easy, it does not require anything elaborate. A chain-link fence will do. A siege is very effective.

All that is required is to enclose large numbers of prisoners in an area where they can't get out and then do nothing to look after them. If they do not have water, food, sanitation or shelter, they will die. The captors can shoot anyone who tries to escape. The captives will die in only a few weeks, or even in a few days if they are already weakened or wounded. Their captors don't have to do anything.

Siege is exactly what the Wehrmacht did with the gigantic Soviet armies that were captured in the first months of Operation Barbarossa in WW II. It was part of the Commissar Order [1] which empowered German soldiers to treat enemies barbarically in the east. Those on trial at Nuremberg acknowledged that such atrocities were committed, including the sieges of the Warsaw Ghetto and Leningrad. [2]

According to James Bacque, a Canadian author, the American and French captors besieged German captives after the War killing around one million Germans who had surrendered. [3] [4] Bacque was ably assisted in research by Col. Ernest F. Fisher, a senior historian of the U.S. Army [5] [6] and enthusiastically supported by Stephen Ambrose until Ambrose was assigned to write the official biography of Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The Israelis currently have 1.5 million Palestinians under siege in Gaza an area of only 139 square miles. Because the Palestinians have a few resources and the Israelis allow a trickle into Gaza, the people there are dying slowly after they have been strangled for years. [7] The Gaza Strip today is a very close parallel to the Warsaw Ghetto.

Building camps and providing food and shelter for prisoners, which the Nazis did for Allied airmen (who were carpet bombing German cities throughout the war) and other prisoners (including Jews, communists, Gypsies and homosexuals) is costly and even generous — however miserable — when one is locked in a life and death struggle.

The horrific pictures taken for propaganda by American cameramen in German camps as they were captured by Allied armies were typhus victims [8] who died because sanitation could no longer be maintained — due to the Allied offensive itself and the utter collapse of the Nazi regime.

All the Nazi concentration camps in the west were originally designated as "death camps" but no one calls them that today. The recognized "death camps" today were all inside the Soviet sector where no Allied soldier, or cameraman, ever set foot and some of the most ferocious battles in history were taking place. It was Hell on earth for all.

They Didn't Make It

© MMX V.1.0.1
by Morley Evans

Many of my friends and relatives didn't make it after they went to the Pasqua Hospital. I was an exception. I have had an extraordinary experience. Who died? There was my father (cancer), Chris (cancer), Carol, the woman down the block (cancer), Girv (cancer), Tom (cancer), Bob (cancer), Walter (cancer), Merv, the guy across the street (cancer) and Marg, my next door neighbour (cancer). All were pronounced "cancer free" a year before they died of cancer. These are only recent cancer casualties. There are lots more. Cancer treatment is not the only thing they don't do well: My mother had two strokes which they didn't treat at the Pasqua Hospital. But she survived with diminished capacity and I looked after her. Then a few years later, my mother's femur snapped (she had been taking Fosamax for years). She died because they took three days before they got around to her. How would you be if you didn't get any food for three days, were already in shock from a traumatic injury, and they kept you full of morphine? They were busy. Overworked and underpaid they are. In case you didn't know, Fosamax has been directly linked to snapped femurs. It is a side effect Merck did not anticipate. Well, you can't expect them to think of everything before they give it to millions to make billions. Of course nobody is responsible for anything, especially in Regina. If you think Regina's other hospital, the Regina General Hospital, must be better, you would be wrong. It is just as bad. It may be worse. Do not give these people more money. Demand reform.

Vested Interests

Dr. Wallace Lockhart has written the type of "study" we have been seeing for years in Regina. They have been publicized in the Leader-Post. They tell us how great we are here. They tell us we have the best right here in Regina. Dr. Lockhart, an accountant, works for the Paul J Hill School of Business at the University of Regina. As Regina's leading 3rd generation family, the Hills, and other 3rd generation families like the Alport medical dynasty, have been milking the herd for a long time. They are at the heart of things here in the Queen City. They are the ORFs (Old Regina Families). Others have been here as long. But they are not ORFs. King of the Mountain is the game. ORFs want to stay on top. Maybe they won't. Remember the Bronfman's? Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations . . .

Health Care in Regina

© MMX V.1.0.1
by Morley Evans

The American health care system is better than ours. When Canadians can afford to escape the Canadian medical system they go to the United States. Saskatchewan has two MRI units, if you don't count the veterinary college in Saskatoon. If you count the Vet's, Saskatchewan has three. North Dakota, which has 2/3 of our population, has ten MRI units all over the State. The only place where Canada has the best health care system in the world is in the minds of Canadians. I have lived in Saskatoon, Flin Flon, Edmonton and Calgary, Vancouver, London England, Kyoto Japan, and Los Angeles. The only place I had a doctor was Regina where bad doctors have almost killed me and good doctors have saved me from what they did. Do I think Regina is particularly bad? I certainly do. A trip to a doctor in Regina is exactly like playing Russian Roulette. You may be lucky. Or you may blow your brains out. The Wall government has done zero to address this. The corruption here is so bad, Hollywood would not believe it.

Profile

© MMX V.1.1.4
by Morley Evans

I am 62 years old. When I was four, I suffered anaphylaxis at Christmas when I ate a small piece of a Brazil nut. An injection of Adrenalin® saved me. From then on, I was allergic and asthmatic. In summertime, I avoided the sun because I was prone to sunburn. When I stayed out with the other children, I would be burned to a crisp. Doctors considered my problems to be psychosomatic. They grudgingly prescribed Tedral® for asthma and Adrenalin® for anaphylaxis until I was in high school when steroid inhalers were introduced for asthma. When I was twenty-six, a doctor prescribed Vitamins A & D and my asthma disappeared overnight. Other doctors continually advised against Vitamin D. Whenever I followed their advise, and discontinued Vitamin D, my asthma returned. When the nostrums they prescribed failed to work, I resumed Vitamin D. My asthma always disappeared immediately.

I have had a running battle with ignorant doctors here in Regina all of my life. In 1992 a doctor prescribed Zocor. He ignored my complaints about serious pain, saying, "You are getting older. Stiffness and pain are common. I have pain myself. We have to accept it. Ha ha." He doubled the Zocor® dose and added Amitriptyline and various other drugs for pain and new problems as my health disintegrated. Eight years later, I was in a coma after Zocor® had been replaced with Lipitor®. A neurosurgeon saved my life when he drilled a hole in my head to drain the subdural hematoma.

I have been recovering for the last ten years since I dumped pharmaceutical drugs and the doctors who prescribe them. Today, I am healthy for the first time in my life! I exercise and get five minutes of sunshine three times a week at Gold's Gym. I take JuicePLUS+® as well as Antarctic Krill Oil, Ubiquinol, Carnitor®, and Vitamin D. I eat Kefir, Psyllium and Oat Bran to aid digestion along with seven to thirteen servings of fruits and vegetables a day. I DO NOT GIVE A THOUGHT TO CHOLESTEROL, or anything else pharmaceutical companies and their doctors say that we should all worry about. My Cholesterol is 9.4 mmol/L. I should be dead, according to them. But I am not, despite their best efforts to kill me! Any similarity between what they say and what I do is purely coincidental.

I keep improving. I may live another sixty years. My advise to everyone is avoid doctors and the patented medicines they push. You'll be able to dance on their graves. By-the-way, I don't seem to be allergic anymore to cats. Maybe I grew out of it.

Right, Dr. Alport? You, Dip. http://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/42395/Dr-John-Alport-Regina-SK.html

Regina-Qu'Appelle Health Region

© MMX V.1.0.3
by Morley Evans

Letter to the Regina Leader-Post

HEALTH REGION RATED SECOND BEST? That would tell us how bad the health care system in Canada really is. But surely the Canadian medical system can't be worse than it is here in Regina. Surely. Regina may have the worst medical system in the world. I was tortured by doctors in Regina for eight years before I went into a coma. It has taken me ten years to recover after a doctor here drilled a hole in my head and saved my life. The Regina-Qu'Appelle Health Region has zero quality control. The RQHR excels at ignoring complaints and covering up malpractice and crimes. That is why things look good to people who don't know anything like Dr. Lockhart, the accountant, and to people who are paid to make things look good. I have names, dates and evidence. I know what happened over the last eighteen years and I know who did it and when. Why don't you send one of your so-called investigative journalists to talk to me instead of shoving this letter down the Memory Hole and writing more fairy tales for kiddies? Of course the "study" upon which your story is based was done in Regina, the world capital of invincible smugness, so if you don't call, I'll understand: You own the franchise for fuzzy thinking and self-congratulation. Nothing is too outrageous to be ignored.

The Strange Case of Dr. Poon

© MMX V.1.0.1
by Morley Evans

Cleared on Six of Eight Charges.

Yesterday, the report in the Vancouver Sun said one of the prosecution witnesses testified that Dr. Poon rubbed her clitoris and breasts and stimulated her sex organs for an hour and a half. She must have been rubbed raw. At one point, she testified that Dr. Poon put his face on her breast to listen to her heart. At some point she began to feel like a piece of meat. That took an hour and a half? The sex act usually takes a few minutes, except in someone's imagination. The doctor and his patient would have been in a tiny room by themselves, but it wasn't sound proof. Why didn't she scream or just push Dr. Poon away and stomp out to call the cops, or generally make a fuss in an otherwise crowded office? This is definitely a case of "his word against her word." Where is the evidence? On Law and Order, they require evidence. Of course that's an American show. Don't they require evidence in Regina? The prosecution wants to drag Dr. Poon out to the nearest tree and string him up to defend wimmin. Dr. Poon looks guilty. He seems embarrassed, humiliated and ashamed. I guess an innocent man might be embarrassed. A guilty man might be defiant and defend himself. An innocent man might do the same. Strange case. I would give our justice system a zero on this one. Of course we should all defend wimmin everywhere.

Secret Societies

© MMX V.1.0.6
by Morley Evans

A secret society is not a secret as in nobody knows it exists. Many secret societies exist in broad daylight. A secret society is an organization whose members are sworn to secrecy about their activities. Just like doctors! The official purpose of the organization is the opposite of the secret purpose of the organization. Just like doctors! Members of the organization, have advantages over non-members. Just like doctors! Members may even be above the law. Just like doctors!

One doctor told me that he practiced in Pakistan, South Africa, and England before coming to Canada where he had to join the Canadian Medical Protective Association before he could practice medicine, despite already having been licensed to practice medicine in Canada. Malpractice was not a concern in the other countries where he practiced medicine. Compassion was the main concern of doctors elsewhere, he said. Malpractice is an obsession in Canada and in the U.S.

The Canadian Medical Association (which was organized in 1867 on the British trade union model) and its legal attack dog, the Canadian Medical Protective Association, have managed to make it next to impossible to sue a doctor in Canada and impossible to successfully sue, while it has closed all other avenues of quality control and put every Canadian at risk of grievous harm. Not to worry though, in Canada, they bury their mistakes so everything always appears neat and tidy.

Of course criminal charges against anyone can be pursued in Canada for sexual misconduct, real or perceived or just made up.

Ideally, We Would

© MMX V.1.0.1
by Morley Evans

Everyone today agrees that we should eat seven to thirteen servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

Ideally, we would get all of our nutrition from natural sources. True. Living here in Canada we do not get any Vitamin D from the sun for six or seven months every year. Most of us live indoors most of the time so we get zero Vitamin D from the sun. We don't grow anything edible for ten months of every year. And no one could live exclusively on what we grow in Saskatchewan anyway. "Man does not live by bread alone." We mostly grow grain here. We import food that is not picked fresh so it can be transported thousands of miles to us from where it is grown. Food is preserved by canning, adding sugar, and freezing which all diminish nutrition. Crops are protected from insects and fungi with chemicals. They are fertilized with chemicals. Industrial farming is a horror we don't want to know about when we barbecue our steaks, cook a chicken breast or drink a glass of milk. Many eat at McDonald's. So where are we going to get our "healthy balanced diet" I wonder? We could move to Mexico or Central America and grow our own food on our own plantation, I suppose. That would be nice. Why don't we do that?

Agents Provocateur

© MMX V.1.0.0
by Morley Evans

Agents provocateur are people who incite violence. They stir up a gathering and try to turn it into a mob. Agents provocateur may be members of "radical fringe groups" with objectives that are not those of the mob they would incite. Agents provocateur may also be planted by the forces "trying to keep order" because violence provides justification for "necessary measures" taken as well as for more "security" to keep things under control the next time.
