Gary Taubes, a nationally known science writer, gives a lecture about obesity. The event was held at New Brighton School and was sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.
Mr. Taubes explains at great length and detail how what was well-known to be the cause of why we get fat was somehow completely forgotten in the 1960s when people in developed countries began to become obese. While everything Mr. Taubes says is worth hearing, you can "cut to the chase" as they say in movie-land and go to 1:02:23 where you will see this slide and learn the key to getting fat and losing fat. Why this knowledge was lost is an interesting question, itself, but this is what you need to know.
