Before The American Gambit (1914 to 1945), European countries dominated the world. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was the world hegemon. The primary outcome of The American Gambit was that Pax Americana replaced the British Empire. The British Empire was gone entirely by 1955.

The Treaties of Versailles and Trianon which dealt with the Empires of Germany and Austria-Hungary, respectively, redrew the map of Europe. Carved up, too, was the Ottoman Empire. Anatolia, with a small portion of Europe, became Turkey in 1923. President Woodrow Wilson and Colonel House redesigned the world at Versailles. 

The big winner of The American Gambit was the United States of America with its capital, Washington. The big loser of The American Gambit was Great Britain with its capital, London.

Several fictions were created to strengthen American hegemony. 

First and foremost, an enemy had to be created to replace the Axis — Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and the Empire of Japan. Communism replaced The Axis. The United States of America became the "Leader of the Free World", replacing the British Empire. 

Secondly, the "Leader of the Free World" was supported by its freedom-loving allies. The Big Three were the USA, Great Britain, and France. This fiction allowed the British and the French to believe they were still relevant, when, in fact, they were not. 

France had lost its empire when it had been defeated in the Seven Years War by the British Empire (1756 to 63). France lost the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815).  France lost the Franco-Prussian War in 1870; WWII (1939 to 1945) knocked France out early; France lost French Indo-China at Dien Bien Phu in 1953, and France gave up Algeria in 1962. France was one of the Big Three.

The British Empire was gone by 1955, yet its "partnership" was cultivated as a member of the Big Three. London asked for permission to attack Iran in 1953. Eisenhower denied it. The "regime change" in Iran was taken over by Kermit Roosevelt and the CIA. When Britain, France, and Israel attacked Egypt in 1956 during the Suez Crisis, Washington quashed them. When Britain went to war with Argentina in 1982, it asked permission of Washington first. Britain joined the European Union in 1973 and is having trouble getting out in 2019. Great Britain was one of the Big Three.

With stupendous irony, Great Britain, which had been at war almost continually with France from 1066 to 1914, decided to rescue France by sending the British Expeditionary Force to plug the hole in the French border with Belgium. This resulted in the first chapter (called WWI) of The Great War which continues to this day. WWI led to the end of Great Britain as the unchallenged supreme leader of the world. To do this, Great Britain turned on its historical ally, Germany, and embraced the United States, its historical enemy.

When asked what would be the most important fact of the Twentieth Century, Bismarck prophetically replied, "They speak English in the United States."

Until the Chinese Communist Party took over China in 1948 and the Kuomingtang took refuge on Taiwan with Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Sheck, the Republic of China was included with the Big Three as a freedom-loving regime. China had successfully fought the Empire of Japan which put China in place with the winners of WWII. China then became an enemy along with the Soviet Union.

Washington realised it would be much easier to control its vassals in Europe if they were all collected into one body, hence the European Union and the bureaucracy in Brussels. Washington realised it would be much easier to control Europe if Europeans cowered under the nuclear umbrella provided by the United States. Russia was the needed common enemy. NATO was created to fight a proxy war and buy American-made weapons — which Europeans have been doing since 1914.

When Hiram Maxim invented the machine gun, he was advised to sell it to the Europeans so they could slaughter one another. That is exactly what he did and what happened.

It has always been vitally important that the United States does not appear to be an Empire, even though it is an empire. The historic mission of the United States is to free the people of the world from kings and emperors. The people of the world must not be allowed to realise they are trading kings and emperors for the POTUS (President of The United States) and the SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) along with the Pentagon, the American Intelligence Community, Wall Street, the FBI, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The United States would have dominion over the world after spreading "freedom and democracy" along with "human rights". 

Read Freeing the World to Death by William Blum. William Blum was found dead in his apartment. He had multiple contusions and broken bones. Cause of death was determined to be a fall in his apartment. Could Bill have been beaten to death? Was William Blum a victim of Defenestration? Who would want to assassinate a nice old man like Bill?  

I'm not making this up. I wish I were making it up.
