Did you know that the "evil dictator" of Venezuela, Hugo Chaves, gave free heating oil to hundreds of thousands of poor Americans for 8 years? Is "Free stuff" just another despicable communist trick to take away our freedom and democracy? The poor must freeze and be happy that they are free and that they live in a democracy. Suffering is good, says the 1% who own everything.
"Free Stuff"? Is it really free? Do Americans really have a democracy? Do Canadians really have a Democracy? Does the American Democratic Party really represent poor people and workers? Does the Canadian CCF/NDP really represent poor people and workers? OR do the parties of the left in Canada and the USA betray the underclass to benefit the upper class which they only pretend to oppose?
The leaders of the left only want to be part of the upper class. Nancy Pelosi is one good example. There are many. Napoleon is their role model.
Is Canadian medical treatment really free or is it a welfare program for doctors and pharmaceutical companies? Is Canadian Medicare what Americans need as many in the left believe? Would Americans and Canadians be better served by the medical system the Cubans have?
Cubans pay doctors $67 a month! I like that! If doctors in Canada don't like that, doctors can pay me for the malpractice I've suffered at their hands here in Saskatchewan. Doctors consider themselves a caste; each one in the caste is an undifferentiated unit of their élite club.
I'll accept their definition. No need to separate good doctors from bad doctors or one case from another. Separating good from bad would not be necessary. Okay boys and girls, playtime is over.
Does the "news" business exist to inform the public and keep everyone honest or does it exist to manufacture consent by telling lies to create consent that serves the 1%?
Back in the Golden Age, "Yellow Journalism" reared its ugly head. It manipulated the public with lies so the public would support wars like the Spanish-American war. Notice how US enemies always appear first when naming a war, as if they started the war. William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer cashed in. What's going on today is not new.
