Q. Who benefits from rent control legislation?
A. Politicians benefit. Everyone else is harmed, even those who think they benefit.
This is true of all government programs. Politicians dream up things they sell to the public that benefit themselves first and foremost. People who argue against such things are automatically disadvantaged.
