Microscopic Biology
Viruses are very small; they are submicroscopic; they cannot be seen with a microscope. They are much smaller than the graphic here. If they were shown in their real size you couldn't see them. "Virus" is Latin for "poison". Unlike bacteria, viruses are not alive. This link allows one to learn more about viruses and prions, which are another submicroscopic entity.
