Romney Shocker

© MMXII V.1.0.0
by Morley Evans

With the U.S. Presidential Election only days away, this news is shocking not so much for what it is about as because it has been totally ignored by the U.S. media. Mitt Romney and his partners made billions from the Detroit bailout, then they fired all the UAW workers, closed all but one GM parts plant, and moved production to China. Is Romney the "turn-around specialist" the United States needs? Why don't you know about this?

Why We Get Fat

© MMXII V.1.0.1
posted by Morley Evans

Gary Taubes, a nationally known science writer, gives a lecture about obesity. The event was held at New Brighton School and was sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.

Mr. Taubes explains at great length and detail how what was well-known to be the cause of why we get fat was somehow completely forgotten in the 1960s when people in developed countries began to become obese. Five hundred pound people were unknown before fructose became chemically free from glucose. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19626358

While everything Mr. Taubes says is worth hearing, you can "cut to the chase" as they say in movie-land and go to 1:02:23 where you will see this slide and learn the key to getting fat and losing fat. Why this knowledge was lost is an interesting question, itself, but this is what you need to know.

My Plate

This is the graphic currently being promoted by the United States government to help Americans choose a healthy diet. The government felt that the Food Pyramid was too confusing.

Do you notice anything missing, perhaps wrong?

There are three general categories of nutrition, not counting water or air: carbohydrates, protein and fat. Fruits, Vegetables, and Grains are carbohydrates. Protein is protein, but it usually comes with fat unless one chooses lean as the government and health experts advise. Dairy will certainly be fat-free dairy products like fat free cheese and skim milk. So fat is completely missing, absent, not there, gone.

For decades, everyone's main obsession has been fat. Everyone is trying to lose weight. Everyone believes that they are fat because they eat fat. Everyone has been removing fat but they keep getting fatter. Everyone thinks that fat is cholesterol and they cause heart disease. Fat, fat, fat.

Jack Sprat could eat no fat
His wife could eat no lean
And so betwixt the two of them
They licked the platter clean

The Fat Switch

© MMXII V.1.0.0

Have you ever wondered why bears eat berries in the autumn before they hibernate for the winter? Everyone has always said bears need to put on fat before they hibernate so they can live on their fat. How can a tiny berry, or even gallons of berries help a gigantic bear put on fat? Dr. Richard Johnson knows how. In this interview he tells Dr. Mercola. You can buy Dr. Johnson's new book. He even knows why drinking diet cola makes you fat. You had better find out the connection between what you eat and metabolic syndrome. Here's Dr. Johnson's secret in one word " fructose".

The Imperial Future

© MMXII V.1.0.3
by Morley Evans

Here is the future of the world:

1). Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) will be joined by other countries outside the Empire in refusing to sell to the United States and its empire to avoid accumulating more U.S. dollars which are used to fund "the most powerful military the world has ever known."
2). Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) will be joined by other countries outside the Empire in refusing to buy from the United States and its empire, except raw materials as needed. Fewer and fewer raw materials will be needed from "the world's only remaining superpower" as resources are developed in Asia, South America and Africa.
3). The "world's only remaining superpower" (Washington) will no longer be able to pay for "the most powerful military the world has ever known" or anything else.
4). Americans, themselves, will shun the dollar and Washington's Empire, join the world community, and the money mavens will be gone — out of business, irrelevant and forgotten.
5). maps will change significantly, without war. Don't wait for scoundrels to be swinging from lampposts, as satisfying as that might seem.

Expect this process to be complete in the next 15 years. It is already well underway. The endless wars of "the world's only remaing superpower" are merely futile efforts to avoid extinction by using its only remaining asset. "What good are nuclear weapons if they cannot be used?" Indeed.

Wages

© MMXII V 1.0.5
by Morley Evans

In 1914, Henry Ford started an industrial revolution by more than doubling wages to $5 a day—a move that helped build the U.S. middle class and the modern economy.

In 1913, to help meet the growing demand for the Model T, Henry Ford turned his attention to improving the manufacturing processes. The business model Ford developed—production on a grand scale, performed by well-paid workers—spread throughout the world and became the manufacturing standard for everything from vacuum sweepers to cars, and more. [Ransom E. Olds, not Henry Ford, actually invented the moving assembly line to make cars. Ford's original assembly lines were manufactured by the Dodge brothers.]

Could the policy of greater productivity (defined as more production from fewer workers and a lower aggregate wage bill) result in the contraction of the world economy as demand shrinks because people can afford to buy less? What if everything could be produced by machines owned by a few über rich capitalists and wages were zero? (We should remind ourselves that every scheme to put ownership of "the means of production" into "the hands of the people" has failed miserably.) Who would buy the production? How would they buy? Was Henry Ford a century ahead of his time? Here's a report from the Real News Network:

During the 1930s — like today — the world's financial system was stressed and people everywhere (except Nazi Germany) were suffering through The Great Depression. This period followed The Roaring Twenties which followed The Great War. This has been traced directly back to The Federal Reserve System and policies in Washington. The Great Depression was ended by World War II and the magic of the printing press: there suddenly was lots of money for war materiel and soldiers — just like now!

SIDEBAR: Henry Ford was extremely suspicious of Wall Street, bankers and the Federal Reserve. Ford also didn't like advertising, easy credit, annual model styling changes, planned obsolescence, organized labour, public relations, or war. Ford didn't like people who did like these things, the old fuddy-duddy. Henry Ford didn't like jazz either, but his grandson Henry Ford II liked jazz so much he had a New Orleans jazz band play for his funeral procession which included hundreds of grieving back people. Henry Ford II entered into a partnership that has lasted for 6 decades with the Japanese car manufacturer, Mazda, following The Pacific War.
