Recent "conspiracy theories" are suggesting the current coronavirus Covid-19 originated in an American bioweapons lab in the United States and that Americans inadvertently took it to China. Here's more:

If so, this might not have been the first time.
Immediately following the Great War (1914-1918) a pandemic swept the world. It killed people in the prime of their lives. The very young and very old were not imperilled. Various "conspiracies" suggested the pandemic originated in a bioweapons lab in Kansas. The pandemic was misnamed the "Spanish flu".
