Shir Hever is an economic researcher in the Alternative Information Center, a Palestinian-Israeli organization active in Jerusalem and Beit-Sahour. Hever researches the economic aspect of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territory, some of his research topics include the international aid to the Palestinians and to Israel, the effects of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories on the Israeli economy, and the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaigns against Israel. His work also includes giving lectures and presentations on the economy of the occupation. He is a graduate student at the Freie Universitat in Berlin, and researches the privatization of security in Israel. His first book: Political Economy of Israel's Occupation: Repression Beyond Exploitation, was published by Pluto Press.

As for the myth that “vulnerable” and “isolated” Israel is surrounded by enemies, Israel is actually surrounded by strategic allies. The Palestinian Authority, bankrolled, armed and directed by the US, has long colluded with Tel Aviv. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Netanyahu are the tyrannies in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar — if the World Cup ever gets to Qatar, count on Mossad to run the security.[1]

George W. Bush plainly laid it out for everyone when he said, "You are either with us or you are against us." Whatever you may think, you are not one of them. They are coming for you and your children and their children next and you'd better believe it. Wake UP!

[1] Absent from the list of Arab nations here (whose governments are allies of Israel and the United States) are Iraq, Libya and Syria who opposed Israel and its on-going war on the Palestinians. Iraq was destroyed a few years ago "to free its people from the vicious dictator Saddam Hussein." Libya was destroyed recently "to free its people from the vicious dictator Muammar Gaddafi." Syria is currently undergoing the process of being destroyed "to free its people from the vicious dictator Bashar al Assad." Iran, which is not an Arab country but is a Muslim country, remains to be destroyed "to free its people from the vicious dictatorship of the Ayatollahs." Turkey is a secular Muslim country, NATO member: an ally of Washington. Divide and Rule is the name of the game.  

Governments of the allies of Washington usually do not represent the views of their people. Governments who do represent the views of their people, but not Washington's views, are destroyed by Washington. This is a classic system of colonial domination where small élite minorities are used by the colonial power to dominate and exploit the masses. Washington is the colonial power. The United States of America is a colony of Washington too, along with everyone in the so-called free world, called "Oceania" in 1984.

St. Matthew's Anglican Church

St. Matthew’s Parish began when the original Grace church was consecrated in 1910.

Today’s St. Matthew’s church building began life in 1915 as a “basement church.” In 1926, the roof over the basement was removed and the superstructure was built. 

The new church was not built on top of the existing basement walls. Instead, Frank Portnall, the architect, built the superstructure on 16 brick piers that were evenly spaced a few feet inside the existing basement walls. How deep these piers extend below the basement floor is not known. The big brick things one can see today in the basement are these piers. Everything above them — the north wall, the south wall, the floor of the sanctuary and the roof above it rests on these piers. The east wall, the west wall, and the bell tower have a foundation of unknown design but they were designed by Portnall who was a competent engineer. 

Plans may exist at City Hall or in the Saskatchewan Archive. Perhaps the Diocese of Qu’Appelle has an archive but this is not England or the United States where records are fastidiously kept for decades and centuries so plans may not exist.

On the main floor of the sanctuary, low walls were built atop the old basement walls. Aisles pass between those walls and the columns that rest on the piers in the basement. Small stained glass windows adorn those low walls. 

The tall stained glass windows on the high walls of the sanctuary are placed at the centre of the arches that rise from the columns. The roof is supported by the north and south high walls.

The south west entrance rests uneasily on a crumbling foundation that is not typical of the main structure. A large addition was built on the north side of the church a few years ago. It rests on piles. Douglas Ridgway, who looked after the mechanical systems for years, says the southern basement wall, which is brick, was reinforced with shot-crete in the sixties, overloading the footing. The Grace Broder chapel is another add-on to the main structure. Its foundation is unknown.

St. Matthew’s is a unique building built entirely of brick, including the foundation. This is very uncommon in Regina. Engineers here cannot be expected to know much — or anything — about this since they will have had little or no schooling and no experience with it. An expert mason is required who respects and understands this type of construction. The masonry needs attention. Repointing was incompetently done in the past and mortar is being attacked by moisture. Bishop Rob Hardwick has told us that an expert mason with experience with restoration of historic brick buildings lives in Fort Qu’Appelle. Let’s see what he thinks.

For some reason, panic was created using fear that St. Matthew’s is unsafe. A focused examination of the piers, the east wall, the west wall and the bell tower will tell us whether the building is safe or not. Everything else — regarding the building that is — depends on the answer to the question: Are we safe?

If it is determined that the basic structure is sound — which seems likely — immediate attention needs to be paid to the mechanical and electrical systems and to the shingles on the roof. If the basic structure is not sound, it is time to call for a bulldozer.

On-going attention to the building and its care and maintenance, including janitorial services, must recommence immediately.

Some parishioners have expressed concerns that “studying things to death” is a waste of time. I disagree. Discarding balderdash and seeking the truth is never a waste of time. Knowing what one is talking about is necessary. It must be done.

St. Matthew’s Congregation:
Rebuilding the congregation is as important as securing St. Matthew's structure. St. Matthew’s congregation is not unique. Religion, itself, has been seriously under attack since 1901. The Great War and its sequel, World War II, left cathedrals and churches empty everywhere.

Are You Confused?

An American correspondant has written these wise words:

Are you confused by what is going on in the Middle East? Let me explain. We support the Iraqi government in the fight against ISIS. We don't like ISIS, but ISIS is supported by Saudi Arabia who we do like. We don't like Assad in Syria. We support the fight against him, but ISIS is also fighting against him. We don't like Iran, but Iran supports the Iraqi government in its fight against ISIS. So some of our friends support our enemies, some enemies are now our friends, and some of our enemies are fighting against our other enemies, who we want to lose, but we don't want our enemies who are fighting our enemies to win. If the people we want to defeat are defeated, they could be replaced by people we like even less. And all this was started by us invading a country to drive out terrorists who were not actually there until we went in to drive them out. It's quite simple, really. Do you understand NOW?

Do you know that whistleblower, Edward Snowden, has documents showing the leader of ISIS was trained for a year by the Israelis?

The explanations provided by the lying media (AKA the "mainstream media") to the rabble which is informed by that source can be completely disregarded. These are the reasons behind international affairs today (and yesterday):

1). People like to make money. A warmonger's business is war. War is good for business. What warmongers do has nothing to do with defense or peace. Peace is bad for (their) business. The more war, the better. All the "defense" contractors would be out of business should peace break out — everyone else would benefit. WAR IS A RACKET. WAKE UP.
2). The Zionist entity which they call "Israel" is the product of a racist paranoiac ideology which more-or-less completely subsumed the religion of the Jews in the 20th century. 

The premises of Zionism are 1). that Jews, as the Chosen People of God, have the divine right to rule the world and everything and everyone in it; and 2). that other people hate Jews for completely irrational reasons and those people have tried over the ages to destroy the Jews, their rightful masters. Zionist ideology and what they do puts Zionists at odds with every person on earth. Zionists define themselves as the enemies of mankind.

The United States of America — which is the home of Washington's empire as Italy was the home of Rome's empire — was founded on the promise of "Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." That noble sentiment was bundled with a mission to free the rest of the world by force if necessary: "Freeing the world to death" whether they like it or not with Washington and the POTUS in charge of everything and everyone: Peace at last. . .

These two ideologies may or may not have had separate origins, but they have identical megalomaniac aims and they amplify each other's effect. They fit together like a hand and a glove — or a mailed fist. 

Strategic Air Command "Peace is our Profession"

The Strategic Air Command may be gone but it has merely been replaced by something worse, from a non warmongering point of view. In the 19th century the British Empire was under-written by the British Israel ideology which named the British ruling class (which included some Jews, notably Rothschild) as the 13th Tribe of Israel and the rightful owners of the world. The British Empire was subsumed by the American empire after two world wars that killed many tens of millions (mostly Soviets and Chinese) and destroyed every economy except the United States which was enriched many times. Winston Churchill was a life-long Zionist until the Lavon Affair gave him second thoughts. The last British lion unwittingly led his beloved empire to oblivion as he and his successors handed the reins of empire to Washington.

"Not all Jews are Zionists and not all Zionists are Jews," but all Zionists are the disciples of Satan and the source of most of the evil today.

Actually, the Zionist entity which they call "The State of Israel" is a war crime from start to end (which will be soon since things that can't go on forever don't go on forever). "Israel" is the Frankenstein monster that has been lurching about in the Middle East for over 66 years wreaking havoc and death on innocent people from Lebanon to Syria to Palestine to Egypt. Israeli influence has been working behind the scenes as Washington has performed its black magic act in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, and places as far away as Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia. Washington is everywhere. Washington's empire has been the dream of every megalomaniac from time immemorial.

Washington's power is fuelled by Washington's funny money, not so much taxation anymore. Washington prints as much money as it needs to buy whatever and whomever it wants. Some think the dollar empire is invincible, yet every dollar that Washington prints is one more nail in its coffin. And it has already printed trillions. 

Of course, Zionists brand anyone who dares to question what they do as an "anti-Semite" which has allowed them to get away with murder all these years. Zionists have only needed to invoke the mystical anti-Semitic charm "Holocaust" to bedazzle the unwary and destroy every critic. But enough is enough. The latest Israeli rampage that pulverized for 57 days the defenseless Palestinians who are imprisoned in the Gaza Strip has gone too far. The jig is up for "Israel" and its golem, The United State of America "the world's only remaining superpower" — which has been getting away with masquerading as "the last best hope of mankind." Is God on their side as they claim? No. These are Satan's spawn.
