When I say the civilization we live in is doomed, people panic.
They should not. Only sixty years ago, we literally bombed Germany and Japan into the Stone Age. Yet the Japanese and Germans rebuilt. Japan and Germany are among the world's leading economies today. (The Marshall Plan was not responsible.) Fifty years ago, South Korea was devastated. South Koreans too have rebuilt their country. Russians and Chinese paid the biggest price — by orders of magnitude — for the Second World War. They also suffered decades of Communist mismanagement. China has been growing by leaps and bounds in the last few years. Russia is doing quite well considering the disasters of the 20th century from which Russia is recovering. India, China and other former colonies are moving up fast: tiny Singapore is a leader.
"Those who are last, soon will be first. For the times they are a-changin."
No one is going to — or is threatening to — bomb us into The Stone Age. We have been among the Top Dogs since 1066. We have been Top Dog most of the time. Look at history. That is changing as others have been catching up. The empire we live in is doomed. The British Empire was gone forty years ago. Washington's empire will be gone soon. Everyone else has hammered their swords into ploughshares. They have been selling high quality ploughshares to us for very attractive prices. We, as a people, are not doomed. We will join the human race and do the same as others. We are good at what we do. Turn your back on the warmongers. The future is bright, prosperous, peaceful and ecologically friendly too.
Happy New Year!
Love,
