This was posted by a Russian who was addressing criticism of Russian handling of the COVID-19 crisis.

In Russia, there had been 388K confirmed infection in a country with 150M population. that's 0.25%

UK: COVID cases 271000 in a country of 66.65 million. That's 0.4% of the population infected.

US: Infected 1.74 M, total population 328M or 0.5%

Brazil: Infected 468K, total population 209M or 0.22%

Italy: Infected 232K, total population 60M or 0.38%

Germany: infected 183K, total population 83M or 0.22%

Sweden: 37K, total population 10.23 M or 0.37%

What it tells us is that the Russian Bureaucracy was able to keep the spread of COVID 19 as well as Germany did, which is known for its efficiency. while the bureaucracy seemed to have worsened the situation in countries like the UK, US and Sweden.

Since we are at it. let's check if there was a bureaucracy failure, resulting in more deaths from COVID 19.

Here we will be checking the percentage of infected people that had died.

Russia: Infected 388K, Dead 4.3K or 1.1%

UK: infected 271K, Dead 38K or 14%

US: infected 1.74M, Dead 104K or 5.9%

Brazil: infected 468K, Dead 28K or 5.9%

Italy: infected 232K, Dead 33K or 14%

Germany: infected 183K, Dead 8.5K or 4.6%

Sweden: infected 37K, Dead 4.3K or 12%

So Russian bureaucracy providing support to the seriously ill infected people had been able to keep the deaths below if not half the expected mortality of 2% for COVID 19.

This is a simplified statistic representation. not including the variable factors like the numbers of the elderly or ill population that are more vulnerable.

But what do we see? Stating total numbers are not informative, but a great propaganda tool. Using percentage show that Russians had been pretty effective in the control of spread, and what is more amazing is that they had been effective in the support treatment of the severely ill.

Let's analysis the rest examples. Germany with its well-known efficiency, Had been doing a great job.

US, UK and Sweden dropped the ball worse than Italy. Both with control of spread and treatment. The Mortality rate in those countries is scandalous. An investigation needs to be conducted on why they exceed the expected mortality. Note: That they do have a high elderly population. But it then raises the issue on why they were not protected.

The shocker is Brazil. It too took a bad rep due to the total size of infected. when in actual fact their spread was pretty low for a population that size. However, the death rate was equal to the US.

So you see, propagandists will try to cloud you with big figures. Take a pen, do the simple maths and call their buff.
