In the midst of secular life, mankind has created the Church of Modern Medicine — Anointed and Established with cathedral-hospitals where miracles are performed hourly by physician-priests who are certified and protected. Governments collect money from the peasant-worshippers. Medical mysteries occur in operating rooms where life and death is bartered. Human sacrifices are made to appease the medical gods and the almighty horned-one whose name must not be spoken.
