CHRISTMAS
IN RUSSIA

Christmas is celebrated in Russia and other Slavic countries such as Ukraine, Georgia, and Belarus, from 25 December to 6 January with the New Years Eve blowout smack in the middle. Western European Slavic countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, are mostly Roman Catholic. The Orthodox Church is much smaller there, so they don't celebrate Christmas on 6 January. Russians start preparing for Christmas in early December and finish cleaning up in Late January. That's two months of Christmas. No one else does that anywhere. Look at these decorations in Moscow! Does your city look like that?

By the way, Russia is warmer than in Canada. Even Siberia is usually warmer. Hudson's Bay brings arctic weather south making Regina and Winnipeg the coldest cities on earth during the winter. Like it or not. You can set your Apple Watch to monitor the Weather Network if you don't believe me.
